Who’s the bad guy?
I don’t think that it’s a great idea to blatantly say that you can never do something.
Stay with me…
I know you trust your character and person. Of course, you’ve known yourself longer than you’ve ever known anyone else, but I don’t think that life is plainly black or white.
I think that the honest and humble thing to do is to acknowledge that sometimes life throws some balls at us that may sometimes want to shake us off balance, thereby making us act in certain ways that may question our character. However, because of the moral standing we have, regardless of those temptations of bending our character, we will not succumb.
I’m a Christian — And as you may know, Christianity is based on the premise of believing in Jesus that he died for you — that is the only way you can have salvation. I also think that good morals make up a huge part of Christianity.
The Bible clearly states that we should love our neighbours as we love ourselves, and treat others as we want to be treated — I think these are heavy statements. I wouldn’t want to harm or steal from my neighbors if I love them as much as I love myself.
So in the face of these situations, I will say that though the temptations of this world, I am helped of God not to give in.
Not one person has a manual to this thing called life.
As a Christian, again, I’m holding on to Christ to direct me, but the truth is that as I take every step, I believe that I’m making the best decisions for my life per time through my obedience to God.
Not forgetting that I’m a human being too, that can make mistakes.
What am I basically saying?
No one is perfect, okay?
Give your fellow human beings the chance to make mistakes and learn from them with grace.
That’s why I said earlier that it isn’t the noblest thing to say that some things are off your doing.
That friend that legit swore never to betray anyone because of how much she was betrayed in the past, has now betrayed you, and now you’re saying you’ll never betray anyone because it is outside your character.
Okay, but you never can tell if tomorrow, you will betray someone. Lol
But if you acknowledge this with humility, regarding that sometimes, life may throw its balls at you, but you have faith enough to stand, because you believe in your character, I think you’re on the right path.
At the end of the day, we’re all doing our best the best way we seem best, lol.
Is it possible to change a person?
Well, though I can’t give a direct answer to this, afterall, there’s no such thing as impossible.
All I know is that whether or not you decide to be a tool for that change, let it be with grace.
Until I write to you again,
Byeee
